The Quest for True Healing

My experience watching the elderly people in my family prompted a deep concern. They had been consuming numerous medications on a regular basis for over 5 to 10 years without ever truly healing. Medicines are supposed to cure us for good; instead, the number of pills and capsules they consumed only increased year after year. I began to realize that these substances weren't actually healing agents. This curiosity led me to read extensively.

A Personal Revelation

Following the paths of people like Dr. Sebi and Dr. Raymond Francis, I was inspired to do something to help others genuinely heal. I decided my first product would be Ashwagandha powder in a capsule form. I began researching the manufacturing components for capsules, starting with plant-based casing options. I found that the common plant-based capsule casing, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC), is a chemically modified polymer of plant cellulose. The other option was Pullulan, a plant-based capsule made from tapioca starch fermented by the fungus Aureobasidium pullulans. The production process for both these materials requires the addition of many non-organic chemicals to the capsule casing. Some of these include Methyl Chloride, Propylene Oxide, Magnesium Sulfate, Titanium Dioxide, and synthetic coloring agents. I was so disturbed by this process that I gave up the idea of using capsules for my products.

The Problem with Extracts and Tablets

I then did market research on the most popular Ashwagandha products and was surprised to find that the most common forms were extracts in capsules or tablets. I was curious about extracts. Modern scientists determined that the most effective substance in Ashwagandha is Withanolides, leading them to develop a scientific method to extract it. This is what's sold as Ashwagandha extract in the market. I instinctively felt this was wrong. I consulted my Ayurvedic gurus in India, who explained that this extraction process would have many negative effects in the long run, such as feeling dizzy and drowsy. The extract works negatively in the body. My simple rule of thumb is that anytime we alter nature too much, it is going to bring a disaster to humans. The health benefits of the Ashwagandha root come from the natural synergy or balance of Withanolides and the host of other natural substances that accompany them.

Food Powders in Capsules and Tablets?

I also realized that selling natural, plant-based powders in capsules or tablets is a scam. Capsules are designed for highly concentrated, laboratory-produced strong chemicals where a tiny dose has a big impact on the body. Super food powders are food; they need to be consumed in large quantities for the body to heal (except stronger herbs like Ashwagandha). Do the simple math: one teaspoon of powder is more than six capsules. Therefore, a 180-capsule bottle contains only about 30 teaspoons of powder. The bottle may look big, but the actual amount of powder inside is only 30 teaspoons. I would call that a scam.

The story of tablets is even worse. To keep their shape, tablets contain excipients, fillers, and binders. While these are crucial for creating a stable, manufacturable, and easily consumable product, some of the chemicals included are Dicalcium Phosphate, Magnesium Stearate (added mainly to aid the machine in tablet production), Lactose, Microcrystalline Cellulose (a binding agent), and Silicon Dioxide. Simply put, you're consuming less product and more toxic chemicals. All of these chemicals add a massive load to your liver, which is most likely already damaged.

My Commitment to Purity

I firmly decided I would never sell any of my products in capsule or tablet form. In the ancient tradition of Ayurveda, Ashwagandha was consumed as a Churna (powder form)—simple, dried Ashwagandha root grounded using stone grinders. I chose to sell my product in this pure form.

However, my story didn't end there. My first batch of Ashwagandha powder was sold in pouch bags. The company told me the inner layer was aluminum, but my subsequent research revealed that the inner layer was actually plastic. I began researching plastic packaging and discovered that microplastic particles can mix with food and enter the body. The biggest damages to the body are Endocrine Disruption (which can cause hormonal imbalance, in turn disrupting organ-to-organ communication), Reproductive Issues, Metabolic Disorders, oxidative stress, and potential cognitive decline.

I was devastated. I immediately discontinued the product. I didn't have the contact information of all the customers, but I called the few I did have, apologized, explained the danger, and advised them not to use the product. I also offered a full refund. To my surprise, only one customer accepted the refund.

I then started selling my product in a glass bottle. While the glass bottle itself was secure, the cap initially had a plastic inner liner! I changed my bottle manufacturer, and now all my bottles are completely plastic-free. Finally, I focused on the manufacturing process itself. I was concerned about plastic involvement in the production. I went through many suppliers until I found a company that could produce my powders without plastic involvement. They even allowed me to use a third-party verifier to perform random inspections and ensure the products are clear of plastic contamination.

Today, I am very happy. I can use my own products at home and share them with my loved ones, using them regularly myself. This is not just the story of my Ashwagandha; it is the story of all the products we sell. We believe it is only food and herbs that can cure us.
